Tips to Protect your EBT Account benefits from getting stolen
- Freeze/Unfreeze EBT Card – When not in use, freeze your EBT card via the mobile app or through the cardholder portal. When ready to use, unfreeze your EBT card via the mobile app or through the cardholder portal.
- Blocking Transactions – Cardholders can block out of state transactions when not traveling out of state. Cardholders can also block online transactions when not making online purchases.
- Set Email Alerts – Cardholders can sign up for email alerts via the mobile app or through the cardholder portal.
- Change PIN Frequently – Periodically change your PIN, especially prior to the benefit issuance date.
The 122-day benefit expiration period begins when SUN Bucks benefits are issued and made available for use. It does not begin with card activation. If your child’s benefits have not yet been issued, the expiration period has not started.You may check the benefits status by calling the SUN Bucks Public Assistance Line or using the ebtEDGE app.
